We all reach a point in our lives where we feel that we should be doing more with the blessings that we have received.  We created this site to be the potential starting point in your journey.

The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit child advocacy organization that has worked relentlessly for more than 40 years to ensure a level playing field for all children. We champion policies and programs that lift children out of poverty; protect them from abuse and neglect; and ensure their access to health care, quality education and a moral and spiritual foundation. Supported by foundation and corporate grants and individual donations, CDF advocates nationwide on behalf of children to ensure children are always a priority.

CDF provides a strong, effective and independent voice for all the children of America who cannot vote, lobby or speak for themselves. We pay particular attention to the needs of poor children, children of color and those with disabilities.

CDF educates the nation about the needs of children and encourages preventive investments before they get sick, drop out of school, get into trouble or suffer family breakdown.

Our mission is to prevent the abuse and neglect of all children in the United States.

We recognize that every day we each have the opportunity to help create the kind of nation we want to live in. We also recognize that when all children don’t have equal opportunity for healthy growth and development, we put our future as a society at risk.Because of the work being accomplished via the Prevent Child Abuse America chapter network, we know that there are many effective child development efforts being implemented around the country. There are services to focus on shaken baby syndrome prevention, sexual safety and child sexual abuse prevention, peer abuse and bullying prevention, and many more.  And because of the success of our signature home visiting program Healthy Families America, evidence based home-visiting strategies that are proven to improve child well-being are able to reach more than 85,000 families ever year.

We also know that we can do better, because a focus on innovative and needed services lays the foundation for children’s growth and development that reduces the later possibility of more serious problems from occurring. Our vision is a nation in which no child is ever abused or neglected, and believe that with the help from the public, policy-makers, and corporate partners, that this idea can be made a reality.

We make it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.

Our team of 80 has vetted and fulfilled over 600,000 classroom project requests that range from butterfly cocoons, to robotics kits, to Little House on the Prairie. Many of us are former teachers, so our operation feels like a cross between a startup and a schoolhouse. Stop by our offices in New York or San Francisco and you'll find us working hard, digging into our data, sharing our favorite classroom projects, and Instagramming the happiest thank you notes from students.

Scholarship America's mission is to mobilize America, through scholarships and educational support, to make post secondary success possible for all students.

Our vision is to be the nationally recognized leader in providing private scholarships and other financial support, to make the completion of education beyond high school a reality for all.

Scholarship America believes that every student deserves an opportunity to go to college, regardless of their financial status.

In 1958, an optometrist in Fall River, Mass., had a simple but profound idea—if everyone in his community gave just a dollar to an educational fund, it would be enough to help nearly every student in the community attend college. Dr. Irving Fradkin called his plan "Dollars for Scholars," and it has expanded into what todayis the nation's largest non-profit, private-sector scholarship and educational support organization—Scholarship America.

Since its founding, Scholarship America has distributed more than $3 billion to 2 million students across the country through various programs including Dollars for ScholarsDreamkeepers, and Scholarship Management Services. Now in our second half-century of helping students, we invite you to become a part of our mission by donating or volunteering today.
